1st day calling

I got to work a half an hour early today and went over my scripts. I thooought I could call people today and be fine, get some donations, but when I got the headset, I got nervous and all that changed.

The first call that popped up on my screen was an answering machine, so I hit D (hang up) and dispositioned the call as answering machine. Not to long later another call had connected and I froze. The woman on the other end was saying "Hello?" And I answered, "Hi, I'm looking for..." and froze, the screen hadn't shown me the name, it was delayed a few seconds. When the name showed, I eventually said who I was looking for, and she asked what the call was about. "This is Donna Hoodak calling on behaf of Interlochen Center for the Arts, is this (persons name)?" She said yes and I froze again, then she started laughing at me, and said "I'm not interested" and hung up.

That made me 10x more nervous because I made a fool of myself, and as anyone else would, disliked being laughed at. Soooo yeah...

1st days blow. Trying again tomorrow, but im already getting the feeling that It's not going to work out with this place. I applied to the Rochester Athletic Club, and have a good chance at that one, so if i get it and i still dislike the job at telecomp... yay another new job :)
